4.5 HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
Once these preliminary operations have been accomplished (coupling
of 3-point hitch to the tractor and cardan shaft engagement), connect
the hydraulic system (fi g.22) to the tractor. This will enable the harrow
to accomplish its various movements, i.e.:
- The pipes of the two hydraulic cylinders «A» to open (work position)
and close (transport position) the two transmission units;
- The pipes of the two hydraulic cylinders «B» to regulate the rear
rollers that establish the work depth.
NOTE: The cylinders «C» that operate the closing clips are
controlled in sequence with the cylinders that control the units.
A specifi c control is therefore not required.
Recognizing the pipe functions
All hydraulic pipes on the machine have recognition stickers as indicated
in fi g.22:
1: Rear roller lowering.
2: Rear roller lifting.
3: Vertical closing of side units.
4: Horizontal opening of side units.
NOTE: The two cylinders «A» (fi g.22) are equipped with an block valve
which acts if a pipe breaks.
WARNING
Check the hydraulic pipes frequently and replace them whenever
they show signs of wear or if small cracks form in the rubber.
4.6 METHOD OF USE
Sit in the steering seat of the tractor and check that there are no other
persons or animals in the vicinity of either the tractor or machine.
WARNING
The folding machine has been designed for use by a single
operator in order to prevent accidents in the case of incorrect
manoeuvres.
WARNING
When using the implement for the fi rst time, check that the ma-
chine and tractor are compatible with each other. Check the total
weight and weight on each axle.
Particularly check that the percentage of residual weight on the
front axle of the tractor complies with the Highway Code pre-
scriptions.
If necessary, weight the front and check again.
Proceed as described below to transfer the machine to the place of
work:
How to close the machine
- Make sure that the tractor's power take-off is disengaged.
- Raise the machine about 40 cm from the ground.
- Operate the lever of the valve system that closes the units: pressure
delivered to pipe (3 fi g.22) until the units reach the vertical position.
NOTE. Make sure that the clips have fully fi tted into the relative safety
pins in the units.
To set the machine to full safety conditions, get off the tractor and
turn the locking clips until they make contact with the safety pins (1
fi g.23).
- Mount the two side guards that protect the tines (1 fi g.24) during
the transport phase.
- Check that the rear lights operate correctly since, in its closed posi-
tion, the machine covers the rear lights of the tractor.
If the tractor license plate is poorly visible, mount a supplementary
plate in the housing on the rear light bar.
