The optimum operation of the machines is when the barrel is partially full. Depending on the nature of the product,
it is important to keep the barrel approximately 3/4 full.
In order to achieve homogeneous trimming results, the feed speed of the machines must be constant. Once the
barrel is filled to the recommended capacity and the first tests have been carried out until the desired quality and
depth of trimming is achieved, try to keep the feed speed constant for the rest of the working day or session.
When introducing the flowers, these will give an outlet to the flowers inside, which have already been processed
or are being processed. If the flowers do not follow their natural path, the inclination of the machine should be
increased slightly.
11.8. Quality control
Check at the output of the machines that the quality of the processed product is as desired. If this is not the case,
the reasons may be:
- A lack of suction power in the suction system. Check that nothing in the entire suction path obstructs or im-
pedes the circulation of the air and the cuttings generated.
- A dirty machines. The accumulation of dirt in the machines, either due to the nature of the flowers or lack of
maintenance, reduces the yield and quality of the trimming. It is essential to carry out the maintenance tasks
described in this manual to help obtain a high-quality end product and increase productivity.
- A misalignment between the barrel and the cutter blocks. To correctly adjust the distance between the two
components, follow the steps in the section Adjusting the MT Tumbler 800 & 800 MED in this manual.
- The product to be processed does not stay long enough inside the barrel. It is necessary to adjust the incli-
nation of the equipment, to control the product load and to adjust the rotation speed of the barrel and the
trimming reels.
12. Control Panel
It is very important, before starting to work with the machines, to be familiar with the functions of the switches on the
control panel switches and the operating states of the equipment. The control panel has the following features:
