► Position the unit so that you are facing the underside of
the deflector and the drive shaft is pointed upwards.
► Slip the thrust plate (5) onto the drive shaft (6). Keep the
side of the thrust plate with the smaller diameter facing
upwards.
► Place the cutting attachment (4) directly on top of the
thrust plate. Ensure that the cutting attachment is
positioned to rotate in the direction indicated on the
deflector.
► Slip the thrust washer (3) onto the drive shaft. Keep the
arched side facing up and the flat side facing towards the
metal cutting attachment.
► Slip the rider plate (2) onto the drive shaft.
► Insert the stop pin (7) in the hole in the gearbox and rotate
the cutting attachment until the stop pin slips into position
and blocks the rotation of the drive shaft.

► Screw on the nut (1) counterclockwise and tighten it down
until the cutting attachment is properly and securely

attached.
► Remove the stop pin from the hole in the gearbox.

Cutting attachments with more than 4 cutting edges must be
mounted with the cutting edges pointing in the direction of

rotation. Otherwise, the cutting attachment will not cut. The
direction of rotation is indicated by an arrow on the
underside of the deflector.

Arrows on the deflector (A) (as seen from the underside)
show the correct direction of rotation of the cutting
attachment. When viewed from above, however, the cutting
attachment rotates counterclockwise.
NOTICE
After mounting or removing the cutting attachment, always
remove the stop pin used to block rotation of the drive shaft.
11.6.2 Removing a Metal Cutting Attachment
To remove a metal cutting attachment:
► Switch off the power tool, @ 15.2.
► Remove the connecting cord, @ 14.2.
► Position the unit so that you are facing the underside of
the deflector and the drive shaft is pointed upwards.
► Block the rotation of the drive shaft with the stop pin.
► Unscrew the nut by turning it clockwise.
