Basic Safety Information for
Vacuum Cleaners
1. WORK AREA SAFETY:
a) Keep the workplace clean, orderly and well lit. Clutter or
poorly lit work areas can lead to accidents.
b) Do not work with the vacuum cleaner in environments
with risk of explosion or where flammable liquids, gases
and powders are present. When operating, vacuum cleaners
generate sparks that can ignite powders or vapors.
c) Keep children and other people away from the
equipment during use. If the operator gets distracted, an
accident could happen.
2. ELECTRICAL SAFETY:
a) The vacuum cleaner plug must fit fully into the outlet. Do
not modify the plug in any way. Do not use adapters on tools
protected by grounding. Standardized plugs and appropriate
outlets reduce the risk of electric shock.
b) Do not pull the tool's cable to carry it, hang it or unplug
it from the outlet. Keep the cable away from heat, oil, sharp
areas or moving parts of the appliance. Damaged cables
increase the risk of electric shock.
c) Do not use vacuum cleaners with a defective on/off
switch. Defective switches increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Never touch the plug or outlet with wet hands. Touching
plugs or outlets with wet hands increases the risk of electric
shock.
e) The electrical connection for this appliance must be
installed by a qualified electrician and be in accordance
with standard IEC 60364-1. Installations not performed by
professionals can lead to accidents.
NOTE: it is advisable for the electrical connection for this
appliance to be equipped with a residual current device
that interrupts the power supply if the leakage current to
ground is greater than 30 mA, or a device that tests the
grounding circuit.
f) When using extension cables, use waterproof sockets
and plug. Water infiltration into the plug or socket increases
the risk of electric shock.
ATTENTION:
unsuitable
hazardous.
g) When using vacuum cleaners in wet environments, use
a circuit breaker on the electrical circuit. The use of circuit
breakers prevents electric shock when the cable is subject to
overcurrent.

3. PERSONAL SAFETY:
a) Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before
performing any maintenance. Disconnecting the appliance
from the mains to perform maintenance or adjustment prevents
the risk of electric shock.
b) Be aware, watch what you are doing and use caution
when working with the vacuum cleaner. Do not use it when
tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications. A
brief moment of carelessness can lead to serious injury.
c) When using the vacuum cleaner, make use of personal
protective equipment (PPE). Proper use of personal
protective equipment, such as vapor protection masks, non-
slip safety footwear, hearing protection and safety goggles,
according to the type and application of the high-pressure
vacuum cleaner, reduces the risk of accidents.
ATTENTION: the noise level from this equipment can
vary from 85–95 dB, so the use of hearing protection is
mandatory.
NOTE: the noise level of each appliance is indicated on the
product's label and packaging. For more information, refer
to the product's label and/or packaging.
ATTENTION: do not use the appliance near people, unless
they are wearing protective clothing.
d) Prevent unintentional operation of the vacuum cleaner.
Make sure that the machine is turned off before connecting it
to the mains, as well as before lifting or transporting it. Carrying
the vacuum cleaner with your finger on the switch or connecting
it to the mains with the button on can lead to accidents.
e) Do not work in abnormal positions. Always keep your
balance and stability while using the vacuum cleaner. This
generates greater control during unexpected situations of use.
f) The vacuum cleaner should not be operated if the power
cable or important parts of the equipment are damaged.
Damaged electrical cables and safety devices increase the risk
of accidents.
g) Always keep plastics and packaging out of the reach of
children. Plastic packaging can cause suffocation.
h) In case of long interruptions in operation, the equipment
switch should be turned to off and it should be unplugged
from the outlet. This prevents unintended operation of the
equipment and reduces the risk of accident.
4. CARE DURING VACUUM CLEANER USE AND HANDLING:
be
a) To ensure your safety and proper functioning of the
equipment, use only original manufacturer parts. Non-
original parts can limit operation of the equipment, damage it,
and can also be dangerous.
