anti-tiPPing DEvicE
Warning: you must attach the anti-tipping device to the mantel and
the wall. This device is a safety feature that will prevent the mantel
from tipping over. Applied weight may cause mantel imbalance.
Insert a washer through a small anti-tip screw. Secure one end of
the nylon strap to the back edge of the mantel by inserting the small
screw with the washer through the hole in the end of the strap and
into the back edge of the mantel. Tighten to secure.
Determine where mantel is to be placed and mark location on the wall
for the anti-tip device screw hole. Insert a wall anchor into the screw
hole in the wall. Insert a washer through a large anti-tip screw. Move
the mantel into position close to the wall. It must be close enough that
the free end of the nylon strap will reach the wall. Secure the free
end of the nylon strap to the wall by inserting the large screw with
the washer through the hole in the end of the strap and into the wall
anchor in the wall. Tighten to secure.
Warning: young children may be injured by tipping furniture. The
use of a tipping restraint is highly recommended. This hardware, when
properly installed, could provide protection against the unexpected
tipping of furniture due to improper use.

substitute for proper adult supervision.
