Connecting to a WHAM Remote Microphone Control Unit
The VHF550 supports one of West Marine's Wireless Handheld Accessory
Microphone (WHAM) control units with the following specifi cations:
•
900 MHz wireless frequency
•
Connects to 2 wireless microphones
•
Supports an approximate 50-foot range
DC 13.8V

Line up the arrow on the side of the remote connector with the arrow
on the side of the control unit cable.

Connect the control unit cable to the remote connector on the back of
the VHF550.
Setting up the WHAM control unit
In order for your radio to communicate with the WHAM control unit, you
have to enter the control unit's base ID and channel into your radio. The
instructions that came with your WHAM control unit should tell you which
base ID and channel you need. If you can't fi nd this information, contact
customer service (see back page).
