WHAT'S WRONG IF ...

... the entire display does not light up?
... only the upper display segments light up?
... only the lower display segments light up?
... the display indicates "OFF"?
... the weighing result is instable?
... the weighing result is obviously incorrect?
... "no CAL" lights up when calibrating?
... the balance displays unclear characters or the
balance is blocked?
... the balance displays "ERROR"?

Then ...
The display has not been switched on. Press control bar.
The power cable has not been plugged in. No power reaching balance.
The microfuse is defective (see "MAINTENANCE: Changing the microfuse").
If this happens repeatedly: check the voltage setting and the value of the microfuse.
If both are correct, contact METTLER TOLEDO Service.
Too heavy weight has been placed on the pan (weighing range has been exceeded).
Balance is defective (contact METTLER TOLEDO Service).
Pan support or weighing pan not installed.
In-use cover touching the pan support (retaining ring for in-use cover not installed).
Balance switched on before unloading the pan. Tip: tare with no load on pan.
Power supply was temporarily interrupted: check both power cable connectors for tight fit.
Press control bar to switch on balance again.
Slingle control bar was not pressed down completely when balance was switched on.
Drafts (PE360: use draft shield).
The weighing table in instable.
The object on pan is instable, e.g., live animal.
Jumper plug on wrong voltage selection position (see "PRELIMINARY STEPS: checking the
voltage setting").
The balance has been placed on an uneven surface.
Balance is out of calibration (see "OPERATION: How to calibrate the balance").
The in-use cover is touching the pan support (install the retaining ring or draft shield
base).
Tare was not pressed before weighing was made (control bar not pressed).
Object on pan touching draft shield (if installed).
An incorrect pan support has been installed on the PE3600.
An improper calibration weight has been used (for weights, see page 7).
The electronic system is not working properly. Unplug power cable, then plug it in again.
There is a defect in the balance electronics; contact METTLER TOLEDO Service.
