2. Installation
Notes
Refer to the safety instructions in section 1.
The installation work for the accessory is based on the workshop information.
Preparations
Remove the front bumper as described in repair instructions No. 51 11 157 .
Take the bumper reinforcement (support) off the bumper as described in repair instructions No. 51 11 157 .
Lever out the cover for the towing eye and pull the trim strip off the bumper.
Place the expanding rivets in water.
Paint the accessory front bumper, registration plate holder, cover for the towing eye and 24 mm covers.

Take the fog light (1) out of the standard bumper and cut the ventilator (2) off the fog light (1) flush along the dotted
line.

Cut the wing (3) off the ring (4) on the fog light holder flush along the dotted line.
Do not get the rings (4) mixed up. Mark the left and right rings (4) for later installation.

Mark the seam (5) lightly with a knife and cut the air guide mounting (6) off the air guide (7) on the standard
bumper.
Ensure that the air guide mounting (6) is not damaged.

Fit the support (8), which you earlier removed from the standard bumper, to the accessory front apron (a) using the
water-soaked expanding rivets at the positions shown.

Clip the fog light (1) into the ring (4).
See the marking on the ring (4).
Insert the fog light (1) and ring (4) into the accessory front apron (a) with the flat side (1) at the top and engage
them.
Ensure that the ring (4) has engaged correctly on the accessory front apron. Caution: Danger of injury from
the ornamental grille.

Position the fog light cover (k) on to the accessory front apron (a) from the front using the Phillips bolt (c).

Bolt the fog light (1) to the accessory front apron (a) using the hexagonal nut, M5 (d) and the washer (e). Place the
air guide mounting (6), which you cut off earlier, into the air guide (10) fitted in the accessory front apron (a) and
drill two holes with a diameter of 2.5 mm (11) in both parts. Apply adhesive (g) to the air guide (10), fit the air guide
mounting (6) and connect the two parts using the Phillips self-tapping screws (f).
The adhesive will be hard in approximately four hours. Caution: Danger of injury from the ornamental grille.

Fit the accessory front apron to the car as described in repair instructions No. 51 11 157 .
Fit the 24 mm cover (l) and the cover for the towing eye (12), which have been painted in the body colour, to the
accessory front apron (a). Place the painted registration plate holder (j) in the centre of the accessory front apron
(a) and secure it.
When fitting the accessory front apron, ensure that the air guides are correctly positioned.
Adjust the fog lights.
