Proceed to make the cut as previously
described in MAKING A BASIC CUT.
THE SLIDING CARRIAGE SYSTEM (Fig. AA)
This saw is equipped with a sliding carriage
system. Loosening the slide lock knob will
release the slide and allow the Cutting Head to
move forwards and backwards.

The Sliding Carriage can be used, wi1_ Miter,
Bevel or Compound cuts selected. Using
1_eSliding Carriage system allows wider
workpieces (up to 9 inches) to be cut.
SLIDE CUTTING
Secure the workpiece as previously
described.
Select the required Miter, Bevel or
Compound angle as previously described.
Loosen the slide lock knob to allow the
Cutting Head to slide.
Grasp the Cutting Head switch handle
and pull the sliding carriage forward until
the arbor (centre of saw blade) is over the
front edge of the workpiece.
Switch on the saw and allow the saw to
reach full speed.
Push the saw handle all the way down
and cut through the leading edge of the
workpiece.
Gently push the saw handle towards the fence
to cut through the fullwidth of the workpiece.
Push the Cutting Head to its full rear
position to complete the cut.
Release the trigger to switch off the saw and
allow blade to come to a complete stop.
Allow the Cutting Head to rise to its upper
position with the blade covered by the
blade guard before moving hands or
removing the workpiece.
I Ak WARNING I
Never pull the Cutting Head and spinning
blade towards you when making a sliding
cut. The blade may try to climb up on top
of the workpiece, causing the Cutting Head
to kick back, forcefully. The Cutting Head
