T-Bolt
2. Install the New Toilet
CAUTION: Risk of external leakage. Do not lift or rock the
bowl after placement. If you break the watertight seal, you must
install a new wax seal.
For All Installations:
Lay the toilet down on its side onto a padded surface.
Position the T-bolts in the closet flange and align them opposite
each other.
Temporarily thread the two nuts onto the T-bolts until flush
against the closet flange.
Measure the length of the T-bolts extending from the closet
flange. If the T-bolts extend more than 1/4" (6 mm) over the top
of the nuts, proceed to the "Remove the Excess T-Bolt Length"
subsection. If the T-bolts are of proper length, proceed to the "For
All Installations" subsection.
For All Installations:
Firmly press a new wax seal around the toilet outlet.
Remove the temporary rag from the closet flange hole, if
applicable.
Ensure that the T-bolts are upright and are properly positioned. If
appropriate, use string or plastic tubing to thread the T-bolts
through the holes in the toilet.
