BIKE MAINTENANCE
Lubrication
56
Once the bike is clean and dry, some parts need to
be lubricated. There are various types of grease and
oil on the market, depending on the components
involved. Here are the products to use, depending
on the part to be lubricated:
• For chains, derailleurs, shifters, cables
and liners, we recommend using a fluid
lubricant, available in bottles or sprays.
Some lubricants with Teflon form a protective
layer, preventing dust from penetrating while
ensuring lubrication.
• For the seatpost, use special carbon assembly
paste, which will help reduce the clamping
force needed to prevent the parts from slipping.
• For the hubs, headset and crankset, we
recommend that you have them serviced
by your Sherco dealer. Dismantling these
components requires experience and the use
of special tools.
Regular maintenance and proper lubrication of your
bike's components will help to extend its life and
ensure that it runs smoothly.
