Step 1/ Battery check: after selecting the charging mode, the charger checks the status of
the battery.
Step 2 / Desulphatisaton: automatic detection of sulphated lead batteries. Pulsing the cur-
rent and voltage dissolves the sulphate from the battery's lead plates to restore maximum
battery capacity.
Step 3 / Refresh: a gentle pre-charge current is used to charge older or rarely used batteries,
thereby reactivating them.
Step 4 / Reactivation charge: gentle charging of the battery with an increased charging current.
Step 5 / Analysis: switching off the charging current to check the open-circuit voltage.
Step 6 / Activation charge: resumption of the increased charging current in preparation for
the main charge.
Step 7 / Main charge: constant-current charge with the maximum charging current.
Step 8 / Charge optimisation: the charging current is gradually reduced to reach the max.
possible battery capacity.
Step 9 / Voltage check: the battery's charging status is checked.
Step 10 / Maintenance charge: if necessary, a pulsed maintenance charge takes place, pre-
venting the battery from discharging.
6. CONNECTION TO BATTERY
• Begin by making sure that your battery is a 6 V or 12 V battery.
• Do not charge any batteries with other operating voltages!
• This battery charger comes with an automatic battery testing function: when the mains cur-
rent is not connected, the display shows the actual battery voltage (from 8 V to 15 V).
6.1. STANDARD CHARGING PROGRAMS (12 V)
In order to prevent sparks from forming when connecting or disconnecting the battery, please first
connect the terminals or O-rings to the battery and only then plug the charger into the socket.
Please proceed as follows:
1. If necessary, disconnect the battery from the electric circuit (observe the instructions pro-
vided by the vehicle manufacturer).
2. Begin by connecting the red cable to the positive pole, then connect the black cable to the
car's ground point (in the case of a built-in battery) or to the negative pole of the battery (in
the case of a removed battery).
3. Now connect the charger to the socket. If the battery is connected with the incorrect polar-
ity or in the event of a short circuit, "Err" lights up at the terminals.
4. Select the desired charging program (see 5.1 "Standard charging programs").
5. When the charging process has finished, "FUL" appears in the display. The charger auto-
matically switches to maintenance charging.
6. If you would like to disconnect the charger again, begin by disconnecting it from the mains
before you disconnect the terminals from the battery.

If you leave the terminals connected to the battery and only disconnect the charger from the
mains, the battery will discharge more quickly because constant voltage checking will take
place. We recommend that the charger be disconnected from the battery when not in use.
This battery charger comes with an automatic memory function (MODE: STD/AGM/12 M/12LFP),
i.e. as soon as an alternating current supply is connected, it starts in the most recently
selected mode.
6.2. SPECIAL CHARGING PROGRAMS (6 V, RECOND, SUPPLY)
1. Connect the charger to the mains.
2. Switch to the mode for the special charging programs by pressing the "Mode" button for a
long time (around 5 seconds).
3. Now select the desired mode by pressing the "Mode" button briefly (6 V, RECOND, SUPPLY)
and then establish a connection with the correct polarity between the battery, or the
consumer, and one of the provided adapters.
6.3. SAFETY FEATURES
This battery charger comes with the following safety features:
• Short-circuit protection
• Overload protection
• Protection against reverse polarity
• Protection against overheating
7. MAINTENANCE AND CARE
This charger requires only minimal maintenance. As with any device or tool, certain measures
extend the life of the battery charger.
1. Store the charger in a clean, dry place.
2. Wind up the cable when it is not being used.
3. Clean the housing and the cable with a slightly damp cloth.
4. Clean the terminals with a solution of water and baking powder to protect them from corrosion.
