Sharpening the saw chain
Keep the chain sharp. Your saw will cut faster and more reliably. A dull chain will cause excessive wear to the sprocket,
guide bar, chain and motor. If you have to force the chain through the wood and the cut only creates sawdust with few
shavings, the chain is dull.
Items needed to sharpen the chain
Buy these items from your local retailer, hardware store or pole saw supplier.

Use the file guide for depositing at 30
1. Adjust the chain to the correct tension
2. Tighten the guide bar in the vice to keep the saw stable. (Note: do not tighten the chain)
3. Press the 5/32" round file (attached to the file guide) out of the groove between the top plate and depth gauge
on the chain. The file guide should rest on both the top plate and the depth gauge (see figure 12). (Note: file in
the middle of the guide bar)
