Clean and inspect
1 Clean all metal parts in environmentally
safe cleaning solvent.
2 Inspect all parts for wear and/or damage.
3 Replace as necessary.
4 Inspect rings (20) for wear.
5 Replace as necessary.
6 Inspect bore of cylinder (17) for any score
marks.
7 Replace as necessary.
Assembly
NOTE
Prior to assembly, certain components
require lubrication. Refer to Table 3 for
details.
Pump tube
Body
1 Clamp body (15) with exhaust port
upward in a soft-jaw vise.
2 Install and seat the following
components in order:
– Spring (14): Quantity 1
– Washer (10): Quantity 1
– External adapter ring (13) with ridge
upward: Quantity 1
– Packings (12) with ridge upward:
Quantity 2
– Internal adapter ring (11) with flat
side upward: Quantity 1
– Additional washer (10): Quantity 1
3 Screw packing screw (9) into body
loosely.
NOTE
Packing screw (9) will require
adjustment. Refer to section entitled
Bench test and operation (page 8) for
details.
4 Screw jam nut (8) onto air motor (1).
5 Screw air motor into body. Tighten
securely.
6 Tighten jam nut that secures air motor to
body.
7 Install gasket (16) into body.

Rod and stop
8 Install packing rings (20) onto
plunger (21).
9 Install valve (19) and plunger with flat
surface first onto bottom of rod and
stop (7).
10 Install nut (22) onto rod and stop.
Tighten securely.
11 Screw rod and stop into piston of air
motor.
12 Make sure t he cotter pin holes align.
13 Install cotter pin (6) that secures piston
to rod and stop.
Valve body and cylinder
14 Install ball (24), gasket (16), stop
washer (23) with flat side first, additional
gasket (16), into valve body (25).
15 Screw cylinder (17) with threadlocker
into valve body. Do not tighten at this
time.
16 Install bung adapter (18) onto cylinder.
17 Install cylinder with threadlocker and
attached components onto plunger.
18 Use care not to damage packing rings.
