5 BREAKER button
The breaker operates when excessive current flows to
the unit. The button pops up when the breaker cuts off
the primary power supply.
Note
If the breaker has operated, turn off the POWER
switch, and then contact your Sony dealer.
6 ⁄AC IN (inlet) connector
Connects the unit to an AC power supply via the AC
power cord supplied with the unit.
Notes on Using a BKSH-102G/102GA/104G HDD
Unit
When installing a BKSH-102G/102GA/104G HDD
Unit into the system, note the following points.
When Connected to a VSR-1000
Media Control Unit
It is not possible to combine 2 gigabyte BKSH-102G/
102GA and 4 gigabyte BKSH-104G units in the same
system.
To use BKSH-102GA or BKSH-104G units, the
firmware (ROM) versions in the following four
locations in the VSR-1000 must be as follows.
• CNI 19 (on SCS-5 board)
• CNI 68 (on SCS-5 board)
• CNI 19 (on MPU-91 board)
• CNI 212 (on MPU-91 board) At least version 1.30

7 y (signal ground) terminal
Connect to the system ground when necessary.
Note
This is not a safety ground terminal.
When Connected to a VST-1000
Series MPEG-2 Encoding Unit
You can use 2 gigabyte BKSH-102G/102GA or 4
gigabyte BKSH-104G units, or a combination of the
two in the same system.
To use BKSH-104G units, the firmware (ROM
mounted on CNI 100) of the IF-525 board in the VST-
1000 series system must be at least version 1.40.
