●
Check that the operation of the blade guards are not
restricted by the position of the work piece.
●
Ensure that the fence and other parts of the product
will not be cut as the blade lowers to the cutting
position.
■
Start the motor and allow the blade to reach full speed
before slowly lowering it to cut the work piece. Slide
the blade assembly backwards and/or forwards to
complete the cut as necessary.
■
Allow the blade assembly to rise to its upper position
where the blade guards are fully closed. Switch off the
motor and allow the blade to come to a complete stop
before removing the work piece or off-cuts, or before
reaching into the area of the blade.
Before fi rst use, ensure that the angle of the bevel or mitre
set on the product matches the angle to be produced on
the work piece. Check this on a discarded piece of wood by
using a carpenter's set or mitre square.
WARNING
The manufacturer strongly recommends that the product
is always securely mounted to a bench top.
When the base of the product is fi rmly secured to a bench
top by four nuts, bolts and washers as instructed, the
product can be used at maximum bevel and mitre setting
without the possibility of it tipping over. If the product is not
secured properly, the product may over balance when large
bevel angles are selected.
At the front of the mitre saw base there is an extending bar
which should be pulled out to its furthest extent. This will
help prevent the mitre saw from over balancing.
There is also an adjustable screw (balancing foot) that
extends from the bottom of the extension turntable. This
screw should be adjusted so that it touches the fl at surface
that the product is resting upon. This will also prevent the
product from over balancing when cutting at the full extent
of the slide and bevel. Beware, this part of the saw table
moves when diff erent mitre angles are selected, so the
screw needs to be frequently adjusted and reset.
