Instructions
Connections
• Open the bottom cover to connect the ports.
Once connected, secure the cover to guarantee
IP65 waterproof and dustproof protection.
• All ports on the switch support Auto-MDI/MDI-X functionality,
so you can use straight or crossover UTP/STP cables to connect
the RJ45 ports to PCs, routers, hubs, other switches, etc.
• Cat5e/6/6a/8.x UTP/STP cables provide optimal performance; if a status LED doesn't indicate
a link or activity, check the corresponding device for proper setup and operation.
• PSE (power sourcing equipment) ports (1-4) — compliant with IEEE 802.3af/at —
that you can connect to PoE devices such as VoIP phones and network cameras. Any
Ethernet-compatible non-PoE device can also be connected to these 4 ports.
• PD (powered device) port (5). When connected to a IEEE 802.3bt/at/af-
compliant PoE injector, midspan or PoE switch, this switch will draw power
from that device; the included power adapter does not need to be used.
This port can also be connected to any standard Ethernet port.
Power
If using this switch as a passthrough power source for PoE devices on Ports 1, 2,3 and
4, the PD port (5) on this switch can receive up to 90 watts of power from a connected
PoE injector or PoE switch — less if the connected PoE device isn't capable of sending
that much power on one port. This switch (509220) will use 5 watts to power itself.
Chassis Ground Column
Located on the connection panel of the switch a grounding terminal connector is used to provide
proper grounding for your switch. It should be wired to an object that provides earth ground.
