User Manual Ares SC4. Microphone.
ARES SC4 MICROPHONE FUNCTIONALITY
ARES SC4 has quite a unique Mic feature for a small Sound Card DJ oriented. Contrary to standard DJ oriented Sound
Cards were the Microphone is only analogue for live performance. At ARES SC4 we have a dual purpose Microphone,
analogue and digital. Plus the ability to mix them both.
The possibility of using the Mic signal digitalized and processed by the Computer Software amounts for a whole new
level of performance. You will be able to:
- Use ARES SC4 as a studio Sound Card for digitally recording your voices with the help of software audio processors that
will give a complete new sound to the voice. Examples are robotic voice, echoes, delays, flanges, etc. This feature has
been developed for people that wants to record their own "capellas" plus with the ability to process them. This is kind of
studio like setting.
- Use ARES SC4 in a live environment such that the Mic voices will be able to be processed by the effects of your DJ
Software of choice (robotic voice, echoes, delays, flanges, etc.). Up to now, in the DJ oriented Sound Cards, this feature
was reserved for Sound Cars triple the cost of ARES SC4.
So, how do I make the most of the "special" Mic features of ARES SC4?
ARES SC4 MIC analogue mode:
First you have to disable the MIC signal to be send to the Computer. Do this by lowering the MIC Gain at the Control
panel. Then set the MIC level adjusting the MIC THROUGH window at Control Panel and the MIC potentiometer at the
Sound Card (See page 30).
Under this setup your microphone is
analogue and can be used for live sessions
as at any other Sound Card.
