MODELS
This manual describes the installation, operation and maintenance of
the M-6, M-12 (standard peelers), C-6, C-12 (combination peelers).
The model reference and its specifications are shown on the identi-
ficacion plate located in the machine.
These peelers have been designed and manufactured in accordance
with the following European directives:
73/23/EEC.
INSTALLATION
For a suitable working operation and long service life of the machine,
follow the instructions contained in this manual.
ELECTRIC INSTALLATION
1. Motor specifications
These peelers are equipped with a 0,5 HP motor. Loading 0,37 kW.
The single phase is supplied for 220 volts.
The three phase is supplied for 220 or 380 volts, prepared for 380
volts.
Before the machine is connected to the mains, check if motor is pre-
pared for the same voltage as the mains. If otherwise, perform the vol-
tage change. To perform voltage change in the motor it is necessary to
release the terminal box fitted alongside the motor. On the cover, a
plate graphically illustrates how to perform it.
2. Cable specifications
These peelers are supplied with one thermoplastic-sheathed cable 1,8
m in length.
THEY MUST BE EARTHED. The grounding wire of the machine is
identified.
Three-phase peeler: Prepare one 16A, 3P+E wall socket and connect
a scaled plug to the peeler cable.
Single-phase peeler: Prepare one 16A, 2P+E wall socket and the
corresponding plug.
3. To change the rotation sense
The rotating plate of the M6, C6, M12 & C12 peelers has to be turned
from left to right.
For better safety see the direction shown by the arrow located along-
side the potato peeler. To reverse, change the position of the wires.
WATER SUPPLY
Fit a 17 mm OD hose into the nozzle provided for water supply in the
machine head.
DRAIN PIPE
External diameter of drain pipe: Ø 48 mm (M6 & C6); Ø 67 mm (M12
& C12). Avoid bends, tiltings which migth hinder draining.
POTATO DELIVERY DOOR
The potato delivery door can be steered after the screws of the cylin-
der base are released.

SUPPORT
The M6 and C6 peelers can be used on a table or on the support which
SAMMIC can furnish the machine. On the models M12 and C12, the
support is always recommended to make easy the discharge of the
drain pipe.
MAINTENANCE
TIGHTENING THE BELT
V-belts while being used may undergo a slight detensioning sufficiently
enough to originate sliding over the driving pulley.
Consequently, if belt is detensioned, the two blind nuts tightening the
motor flange to the platform are released with a wrench. Half a turn is
given to the tensioning attachment washer, counterclockwise. With
such a procedure, the motor es shifted away a few milimetres and the
belt is again tightened.
Before we put the potato peeler in action, tight the screws.
THE ABRASIVE REPLACEMENT
The first stage of the procedure is to remove from the peeler the used
parts. Proceed as follows:
-Remove the cylinder releasing the four knurled screws and lifting ver-
tically the cylinder. If required, slightly tap the platform with a wooden
mallet while the cylinder is pulled upwards.
-Remove the plate. If any trouble arises use two screw-drivers as a
lever, holding them against the platform edges.
The use of tools is only advisable when the potato flour is stuck to the
parts.
