• This multimeter has been designed according to IEC-61010-1 concerning electronic measuring instruments with
an overvoltage category CAT II 1 000V and pollution 2.
• When using the meter, the user must observe all normal safety rules concerning protection against dangers of
electrical current and protection of the meter against misuse.
• Verify that the test leads be in a condition and that the insulation is not exposed before each use.
• Full compliance with safety standards can only be guaranteed if used with the supplied test leads. If necessary,
they must be replaced with the same model or same electric ratings.
• Select the correct input jack function and range before use.
• Never exceed the protection limit values indicated in the chapter "8. Technical Specifications" at the back of the
manual.
• Do not touch the unused terminals when the meter is linked to a measurement circuit.
• Set the range selector at the highest position when the value scale to be measured is unknown.
• Never measure voltage if the voltage on the terminals exceed 1 000V above earth ground.
• Always be careful when working with voltages over 60V DC or AC RMS. Keep fingers behind the probe barriers
while measuring.
• Never connect the meter leads across a voltage source while the selector switch is in the current, resistance,
capacitance, diode, transistor or continuity mode.
• Before rotating the selector switch, disconnect the test leads from the circuit under test.
• Never perform resistance, capacitance, transistor or continuity measurements on live circuits.
