Principle of air washing
1. The quiet and low-energy fan sucks the dirty air in from the top.
2. The air passes over the humidification discs, which continuously rotate in
water, and picks up calcium-free humidity.
3. The water acts as a natural filter that cleans the supplied air from dust.
4. The cleaned and humidified air escapes through lateral outlets.
A relative humidity of between 40 and 60% is generally recommended. This
value is often not reached in winter when cold air enters living spaces that are
being aired and is then warmed up. Air can absorb more humidity in line with
increasing air temperature. The air tries to compensate by taking humidity from
other sources such as mucous membranes, skin, furniture and accessories,
etc. This may have a number of negative effects:
– Mucous membranes dry out, lips become chapped and dry, eyes become irritated
– Infections and respiratory diseases are more likely to occur
– Exhaustion, tiredness and difficulty concentrating
– Pets and plants are put under unnecessary strain
– Promotion of dust and electrostatic charging of textiles made of synthetic fibres, carpets and plastic floor
coverings
– Damage to furniture made of wood, particularly parquet floors
– Detuning of musical instruments
The air washer now enables the air to gather the required humidity on the large surfaces of the humidification
discs. Air humidification is carried out by the principle of auto-regulating cold evaporation. No additional
control units are required.
Water additives are recommended to prevent bacteria building up. Regular cleaning is obligatory. For this
purpose, use the enclosed cleaning solution.

6. Initial use

Remove the transport lock
• Open the cardboard packaging.
• Keep the plastic film closed and remove the device upwards by lifting it out using the handle recesses on
the upper cover.
• Now remove the plastic covering.
• Check the device, mains plug and cable for damage.
• Lift off the upper cover with the fan unit, lift out the humidification discs at the holder and remove the
transport lock from the tank and the fan unit. Check whether all transport locks have been removed.
• Reinsert the humidification discs. The holder automatically falls to the side and the humidification discs
are secured.
• Place the unit upright on a firm, flat surface. For proper air circulation make sure the sented dides are at
least 18 – 20" clear of any wall. Do not block airflow inlets and outlets.
Fill with water
• When filling with water, disconnect the plug from the mains.
• To fill the tub, lift out the upper cover with fan unit by the side handle recesses and place to one side.
• During filling, leave the humidification discs in the tub. Fill the tub with fresh, cold tap water at most up to
the lower edge of the "MAX" marking on the inside of the tub. The most straightforward way to do so is to
use a large container free of limescale and impurities (water can, jug). Use only fresh, cold tap water. We
recommend a filling volume of 3,6 l, to achieve optimal humidification output.
• Place the upper cover with integrated fan unit on the tub. If the upper cover cannot be placed precisely
onto the tub, turn the upper cover around by 180 degrees. This is a design feature and ensures that the
fill level sensor contacts touch each other. Never use force to place the upper cover on the tub. Otherwise
the device will be damaged.
