Use the appropriate 1 inch electrical clamp (not supplied) and 1 – 1 ½ inch

Then pass the appropriate sized electrical cable through the clamp and tighten.
Connect the four load wires from each 30A (if installing at setting 2) or 40A

(if installing at setting 1) circuit to the terminal block connections labeled L1, L2,
respectively. Tighten screws.
WARNING: All wiring must be connected using
consistent phasing throughout installation
procedure. Example: All L1 need to connect to
Left Hot Bus Bar and L2 to the Right Hot Bus Bar.
Refer to the diagram to the right. The continuity
of L1 and L2 must be maintained throughout the
electrical system electrical panel, junction box (if
applicable), and unit.

CAUTION: A Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFI) is recommended, although t is

not necessary for correct installation and operation of this unit. GFI adds
additional levels of safety. Check local codes to determine if GFI is required. USE
COPPER CONDUCTORS ONLY.
CANADA: USE BONDING CONDUCTOR IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CANADIAN
ELECTRICAL CODE, PART I. A green terminal (or a wire connector marked "G",
"GR", "GROUND", or "GROUNDING") is provided with the control box. To reduce
the risk of electric shock, connect this terminal or connector to the grounding
terminal of the electric service or supply panel with a continuous copper wire in
accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
