Follow these steps to check a Diode:
1. Insert the red test lead into the
VΩHz input terminal and the black
test lead into the COM terminal.
2. Set the function switch to
3. Touch the red lead to the Anode
(positive side, non-banded end)
and the black lead to the Cathode
(negative side, banded end.)
4. If the diode is in good conditions,
the reading should indicate between
0.3V to 0.8V on the LCD.
5. Reverse the red and black leads on
the diode. If the LCD reads
is in good conditions.
NOTE: A defective diode will read
0.00 not matter how the test leads are
connected.
• MEASURING FREQUENCY
Follow these steps to measure
frequency:
1. Insert the red test lead into the
VΩHz input terminal and the black
test lead into the COM terminal.
2. Set the function switch to kHz.
3. Touch the test probes to the
test points and read the display, if
the measured frequency is greater
than 2kHz,
(the overload sign) is
displayed.
