9. OPERATION
Use Instructions:
1. Always use the eyeshields and the tool rests and check if they are well adusted. The operator must have a
clear view of the part to be worked on;
2. Adjust the distance between the grinding wheel and tool rest in order to keep 1/16" (1.6 mm) or less, as the
diameter of the grinding wheel reduces due to wear. Figure 9.1. Adjust if there is interference. The proper
adjustments of the tool rest will provide the adequate working angle for an effi cient grinding.
3. Before starting and using the product to perform the desired task, always check the integrity of the grinding
wheels and if they are properly fastened. In case of a crack, fault or failure in the fi xation, correct the pro-
blem, replacing the grinding wheel if necessary before using the grinder;
4. Remain next to the bench grinder when starting it. Do not stand in front of the bench grinder;
5. Do not operate the bench grinder without the guard;
6. Do not use the grinding wheels to perform cuts;
7. Do not overload the bench grinder;
8. After starting the bench grinder, let it reach the full working speed before beginning the operation.
Removing or changing grinding wheels: Follow the instructions below:
1. Shut down the product by means of the ON/OFF switch and disconnect the plug from the power outlet before
replacing the grinding wheels or guards;
2. Remove the guard of the grinding wheel to be replaced. Figure 9.2. Replace cracked or damaged grinding
wheels immediately;
