2. When the drums are two-thirds full, they
must be emptied or another empty drum
moved into place. The dust collector must be
turned OFF to change drums.
3. Turn dust collector ON before starting dust
producing machine(s).
EMPTYING FILTER BAG
DANGER: Turn switch off and remove
plug from power source outlet before emp-
tying filter bag.
1. Empty filter bag by loosening clamp. Slide
bag away from housing. Dispose of dust
properly.
2. Mount filter bag by sliding bag over 90°
elbow and tightening clamp. Make sure filter
bag is secure.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Turn disconnect switch off and
remove plug from power source outlet before
maintaining your dust collector.
DANGER: High speed rotating equipment
can cause severe personal injury. Disconnect
from power source and let motor come to a
complete stop before servicing.
MAINTENANCE
1. Clean motor of dust, chips or other particles.
If operation is excessively dusty or dirty, fre-
quent inspection of motor is required. Vacuum
any particles that may have entered the motor.
2. Replace worn, cut or damaged line cord.
3. Replace worn or damaged collector hose.
4. Replace worn or damaged filter bag.
5. If a vibration should develop, it may indi-
cate excessive wear or damage to the blower
wheel. In this case, with the motor turned OFF
and LOCKED OUT, inspect the blower wheel.
If any damage or excessively worn areas are
noted, replace the blower wheel.
6. Frequently check that all nuts, bolts, screws,
etc. have not loosened due to collector vibra-
tion.
DANGER: Do not operate the dust collec-
tor with a damaged or severely worn blower
wheel. The wheel may disintegrate at oper-
ating speed, and high speed fragments may

cause death or severe personal injury and
property damage.
EMPTYING DRUMS
When drums are two-thirds full, they must be
emptied or another empty drum moved into
place. The dust collector must be turned OFF to
change drums. To change drums:
1. To empty chip drums, tilt lid and care- fully
move drum from under lid. Chips and dust
should be disposed of properly. Empty drum
should be moved under tilted lid until seated
correctly.
2. To empty filter bag drums, slap sides of filter
bag to dislodge dust from bag. Loosen drum
band and carefully move drum from under fil-
ter bag. Dispose of dust properly. Empty drum
should be moved under filter bag, straighten
folds in filter bag and tighten bag band.
STEEL SUPPORT STRUCTURE
Periodically (at least every 6 months) check
the support structure to ensure all fasteners
are fully tightened and retighten as needed.
Ensure all fasteners have been installed with
functional lock washer; add or replace as need-
ed.
FILTER BAG
Periodically check the filter bag for worn or
damaged areas. Replace the bag if worn or
damaged areas are found.
CAUTION: Do not operate with worn or
damaged filter bag as escaping dust could lead
to respiration (breathing) problems.
If the interior surface of the bag becomes dirty
and a noticeable drop- off in air flow develops,
the bag may need to be cleaned. Remove the
bag and turn inside out. Use low pressure air to
dislodge surface dust. If the dust is lodged be-
low the surface, the bag may be washed. Wash
using a cold water, gentle cycle, and line dry. If
the bag becomes dirty again very quickly, re-
place the filter bag.
