Installation
Intended use
DANGER
Risk of explosion
· Do not use the test lamp in potentially explosive
atmospheres!
The test lamp LE3 is used for testing the function of flame
detectors. A rotating fan wheel in a ray of light imitates a
flickering fire.
The test lamp LE3 is accommodated in a carrying case
together with a charger for the battery and a mains cable.
Operation
WARNING
Risk of fire and explosion from use of unauthorized
components
· Only operate test lamp with the components specified
by the manufacturer (battery, charger, halogen lamp).
1. Adjust the light intensity on the potentiometer
(Fig. 1, Fig. 2, [1]).
DANGER
Bright ray of light and UV radiation!
Danger of vision impairment!
· Do not look into the ray of light!
WARNING
Hot surfaces!
Danger of burning body parts!
· Do not reach into the lamp opening!
· Do not touch the halogen lamp and reflector whilst the
test lamp is operating!
· Do not open the housing until the halogen lamp and
reflector have cooled down!
CAUTION
Splash water and mechanical impacts!
Danger of irreparable damage to the halogen lamp!
· Protect the test lamp from splash water and
mechanical impacts!
2. Switch on the master switch (Fig. 3, [5]).
3. Switch on the continuous light with button (Fig. 1, [2]).
If no light can be seen after 'Continuous light' has been
switched on:
Check whether the fan wheel is obstructing the light
source.
To do this press the button (Fig. 1, [3]) 'Flashing light'.
It should now be possible for the light to emerge.
4. Direct the ray of light onto the flame detector. In bright
light conditions: Aim at the flame detector using the
edge of the test lamp.
5. Switch on the flashing light with the button (Fig. 1, [3]).
è An alarm is triggered at the flame detector.

6. At the end of the functional test, switch off the test lamp
at the master switch (Fig. 3, [5]).
7. Put the test lamp in the carrying case after use. This
avoids dust build-ups in the test lamp.
Charging the battery
WARNING
Risk of battery exploding!
Danger of chemical burns from leaking battery acid!
Danger of injury from flying components!
· Only use the battery specified by the manufacturer or
a genuine spare part.
· Only use the charger supplied by the manufacturer.
Charge the battery each time after using the test lamp. It
is also possible to charge the battery in the carrying case,
but leave the case open.
The battery can be charged even if the master switch
(Fig. 3, [5]) is in the "OFF" position.
Spare parts
WARNING
Hot surfaces!
Danger of burning body parts!
· Do not open the housing until the halogen lamp and
reflector have cooled down!
Only use the battery FA2003-A1 and lamp unit with
integrated halogen lamp 12 V/50 W. Test lamp LE3 will
only function when using these genuine spare parts.
