100V line). To achieve the optimum operation and performance of this unit, it is VERY IMPORTANT -
before you plug anything in - that you carefully read this manual and closely follow all its indications.
To guarantee optimum operation from this unit, we strongly recommend that its maintenance be
carried out by our Authorised Technical Services.
1.1. Precautions
This device must be grounded through its power cord.
Any change in the configuration of the unit must be implemented by a qualified technician.
Before any work is done on the unit, disconnect it from the power source.
Failure to do so may result in malfunction of the device and may even damage the device:

Avoid turning on the device without speakers connected to its outputs and without
setting the volume / gain controls to the minimum.

Always use shielded cables to make the connections between devices.
2. INTRODUCTION
HMA180 is a professional 2-rack powered mixer, with 9 input audio channels and a wide range of
additional functions for managing priorities between inputs, sending pre-recorded voice messages for
emergency and evacuation situations, etc.
HMA180 is a compact professional sound solution where the end user is not necessarily an expert
in using audio equipment, as it offers simple start-up and use.
Its main features are as follows:

3 balanced and mixable microphone inputs

1 input for the message console with priority over all other audio sources (PAGER) and chime
melody (CHIME)
•
4 line inputs for music sources (background music), with one of the dials on the front panel
•
Independent level controls for mixing PAGER, MIC1, MIC2 and MIC3 signals on the front panel
•
3-band equalizer for mixing PAGER signals and microphones
•
3-band equalizer for selected music source
•
Additional EMERGENCY MIC/LINE input with maximum priority (for emergency or evacuation
messages), with 3-band equalizer and playback volume control independent of all other signals

24VDC output for managing external priority relays, linkable to the PAGE and/or EMERGENCY
functions

Remote volume control through WPm (0 - 10VDC) series wall panels

MUTE control input to silence the unit from an external device through dry contact closure
