5.4 Squelch value
The threshold value for the squelch function is
adjustable This function will mute the receiver
when the level of the radio signal falls below the
threshold value Thus, interference signals will not
cause noise when the transmitter is switched off
or when its radio signal is poor: If the levels of
the interference signals are below the threshold
value, the receiver will be muted
A high threshold value offers high interfer-
ence resistance, but it will also reduce the trans-
mission range: If the strength of the radio signal
from the transmitter falls below the value ad-
justed, the receiver will also be muted

in such a way that an optimum volume level of
the transmitter is obtained: When the volume is
too high, the audio signal will distort; in this case,

there will be a poor signal-to-noise ratio; in this
case, adjust a higher value Press the button SET

Display of sensitivity for the transmitter RU-850LTB / 5:
After the setting has been transferred to the transmitter, the
menu of the transmitter will show the sensitivity as specified in
the left table column and the function "20 dB attenuation" will
be activated or deactivated as defined in the setting. Examples:
– When SE A2 has been transferred, −9 dB will be shown on the
display and the attenuation will be activated (
sensitivity of −29 dB has been set.
– When SE 2 has been transferred, −9 dB will be shown on the
display and the attenuation will be deactivated (
