11. Why is my hair still growing although I treated them a week ago?
It may seem as though the hair is still growing up to two weeks after a hair removal session using the
beurer SalonPro System. This is know as the "ejection" process and, after around two weeks, you will
find that the hairs simply fall out or can be pulled out with a slight tug. (However, we do not recommend
that you pull on the hairs – simply let them fall out naturally). It is also possible that some hairs are not
affected by the beurer SalonPro System due to a missed application or different growth phases. These
hairs are treated in subsequent sessions and this is why several hair removal sessions are required to
achieve the best results with the beurer SalonPro System.
12. Is it true that some hairs grow back thinner and finer after a light-based hair removal treatment?
This phenomenon has been excessively documented by beauticians and doctors who use light- and
laser-based hair removal devices. It is possible that some hairs grow back thinner and finer after hair
removal using the beurer SalonPro System. Normally, these hairs are a mere fraction of those that were
originally there and further treatment can have the desired effect on them.
13. Why can't I perform a treatment when I have an "active" tan?
Do not use the beurer SalonPro System on tanned skin or after exposure to the sun! Tanned skin, espe-
cially after exposure to the sun, contains a large amount of the pigment melanin. This applies to all skin
types and colours, including those that do not seem to tan quickly. The presence of a large amount of
melanin exposes the skin to an increased risk of negative consequences in relation to the use of the
beurer SalonPro System, including burns, blistering and discolouration of the skin (hyper- or hypopig-
mentation).
14. Is long-term usage of the beurer SalonPro System bad for my skin?
The use of light and laser energy in aesthetic medicine has been excessively documented for over
15 years in professional journals that are checked by experts, and by reputable institutions such as the
Mayo Clinic. These journals and institutions have not reported any side effects or damage as a result of
long-term use of light- and laser-based devices.
15. Can I use the beurer SalonPro System to remove the hair on my chin or other facial hair?
The beurer SalonPro System can be used to treat hair on the face below the cheekbones. When using
on the face, it is important to avoid the area around the eyes. The beurer SalonPro System may not be
used around or on the eyes under any circumstances. As with other parts of the body, exposure to the
sun before and after treatments using the beurer SalonPro System should be avoided. Acceptable sun
protection includes clothing that covers the area or sun cream (at least SPF 30) that must be worn or
applied before and after the treatments.
16. After unprotected exposure to the sun, how long should I wait before performing a treatment
with the beurer SalonPro System?
You should wait 2 weeks after unprotected exposure to the sun before using the beurer SalonPro Sys-
tem. If you are still unsure about exposure to the sun, you should consult your doctor.
17. Are there any particular steps I need to take before using the beurer SalonPro System?
Before each session using the beurer SalonPro System, it is important that exposure of the treated sur-
face to the sun is avoided for at least 2 weeks. This can be aided by UV sun cream (SPF 30+) and cloth-
ing that covers the treated area. Furthermore, the area to be treated should be cleaned with mild soap
and water and the hair should be shaved down to the surface of the skin.
18. How should I care for the treatment area after using the beurer SalonPro System?
The area treated with the beurer SalonPro System can be cleaned and cared for using conventional skin
care products. Do not expose the area to the sun without adequate protection. Sun cream with a high
sun protection factor (30+) and clothing that covers the area provide sufficient protection from the sun.
