Operation

Starting Operation

Switching On and Off
To start the machine, firstly press the lock-off button 2 and then the
On/Off switch 1 at the same time.
When the machine is running, the lock-off button can be released again.
To switch off the machine, release the On/Off switch 1.
Operating Instructions
Do not strain the machine so heavily that it comes to a standstill.
The cutting performance of the machine depends on the materials to be cut
and on the charging condition of the battery.
When the load on the machine is too high, the battery charge-control indi-
cator can light up red. When the load is relieved and the machine returns to
the normal load range, the indicator will light up green again.
Depending on the charge condition of the battery, excessive feed consider-
ably reduces the performance capability.
Always keep the blade free and clean of material remainders.
The guide edge 6 may not become wedged during cutting and must be
aligned parallel to the cutting surface.
Thin materials, such as fabrics, can be pulled into the machine during cut-
ting and become wedged. Therefore, do not apply too much pressure with
such materials in order to achieve good cutting results. During cutting, apply
sufficient tension while holding fabrics and cut slowly.
Optimum cutting results are best determined through practical testing.

Maintenance and Service

Maintenance and Cleaning

For safe and proper working, always keep the machine clean.
While cutting, material residue can accumulate under the blade guard.
Clean the blade guard 3 regularly using a brush or lightly moistened
cloth.
If the machine should fail despite the care taken in manufacturing and test-
ing procedures, repair should be carried out by an after-sales service centre
for Bosch power tools.
In all correspondence and spare parts order, please always include the
10-digit article number given on the type plate of the machine.
