INSTALLATION
The equipment should be installed in a proffessional manner by a competent engineer and in accordance
with the relevant British Standard IEE electrical regulation and local and international safety standards for
gate automation EN 12453 and EN 12445.
- Ensure that the automation system is provided with gate stops in both the open and closed positions.
- Install the control unit onto a flat, immobile surface suitably protected against impact and flooding.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS (tab. 1)
See table 1 and figure 2 for connections.
With existing systems it is necessary to check the condition of the electrical cabling to ensure that it is in
good condition and to current IEE Electrical Regulations.
Electrical Installation
Please ensure that:
- All wires entering the control unit enclosure should be installed without changing the IP 56 protection
rating
- The section of the cables should be calculated according to their length and absorbed current.
- Separate all mains (240vac) and low voltage control cables.
- Divide the system into at least two parts, e.g.:
1) Mains supply (240vac) supply line, motors, flashing light, courtesy light, minimum CSA 1.5 mm2
2) Signal control controls, safety contacts, auxiliaries power supply, electric lock minimum CSA 0.75 mm2
- If the control cables are over 50 metres long, decouple using relays mounted near the control unit.
- All NC contacts in the control unit, that are not used, should be linked to the common.
- All NC contacts linked to one input should be connected in series.
- All NO contacts linked to one input should be connected in parallel.
An external, independent ISOLATING SWITCH (not supplied) should be installed for the power supply of
the control unit.
