2 Safety Notes
The units of this system correspond to all relevant
directives of the EU and are therefore marked
with
.
WARNING The power supply unit uses danger-
ous mains voltage. Leave servicing
to skilled personnel only. Inexpert
handling of the unit may result in
electric shock.
Please observe the following items in any case:
G
The units are suitable for indoor use only. Protect
them against dripping water and splash water,
high air humidity and heat (admissible ambient
temperature range (0 – 40 °C).
G
Do not place any vessel filled with liquid on the
amplifier or the power supply unit, e. g. a drinking
glass.
G
The heat generated inside the amplifier must be
dissipated by air circulation; never cover the air
vents of the housing.
G
Do not operate the amplifier and immediately dis-
connect the power supply unit from the socket
1. if the amplifier, the power supply unit or the
mains cable is visibly damaged,
2. if a defect might have occurred after a unit was
dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the units must be repaired by skilled
personnel.
G
Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the
mains plug from the socket, always seize the
plug.
G
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use
water or chemicals.
G
No guarantee claims for the units and no liability
for any resulting personal damage or material
damage will be accepted if the units are used for
other purposes than originally intended, if they
are not correctly connected or operated, or if they
are not repaired in an expert way.
G
Important for U. K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in
accordance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of
this appliance may not correspond with the
coloured markings identifying the terminals in
your plug, proceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow
must be connected to the terminal in the plug
which is marked with the letter E or by the earth
symbol
, or coloured green or green and
yellow.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning – This appliance must be earthed.
If the units are to be put out of operation
definitively, take them to a local recycling
plant for a disposal which is not harmful to
the environment.
3 Applications
In combination with the IR transmitter microphone
IRS-200HT (channel A) and / or the IR transmitter
microphone IRS-202HT (channel B), this mono
mixing amplifier with 2-channel IR receiver pro-
vides a wireless audio transmission system, suited
e. g. for applications in schools or conference cen-
tres. As IR signals will not go through walls, an
interference-free parallel operation of several sys-
tems in different rooms is ensured. The system is
licence-free. Its range is approx. 15 – 20 m. To
extend the transmission range, it allows to connect
up to two external IR sensors IRS-200IR (optional
accessory).
The amplifier is provided with a 2-way tone con-
trol for the speaker outputs and offers two inputs for
audio units with line signal level (e. g. CD player,
PC) and an announcement input with priority fea-
ture to connect a PA system (25 V, 70 V or 100 V
technique). An adjustable line output with 3-way
equalizer allows to route the output signal, e. g. to a
recorder. The amplifier also features a power
supply jack for the charging station IRS-200PS
(optional accessory for charging the batteries of the
microphones IRS-2..HT).
4 Setting Up
For an optimum IR transmission, position the sys-
tem components in such a way that there are no
obstacles between the microphone IRS-2..HT used
and the IR sensor (14) of the amplifier (and / or the
external IR sensors IRS-200IR
ing operation. However, depending on local condi-
tions, there may be a transmission by reflections of
the IR signals (e. g. on walls) even if there are
obstacles between the transmitter and the sensor.
We therefore recommend to perform a trial opera-
tion before final placement of the system compo-
nents.
