1.1 Scanner (model LE-302)

6 Switch for varying the light effect: when actuating
the switch, the mirror arrangement inside the unit
turns and makes the light pattern rotate
2 Applications
The scanner LE-302 and the kaleidoscope LE-312 are
especially suitable for stage and disco applications.
Different, multicoloured light patterns are projected by
the units, e.g. onto a wall or dancing floor.
The above-mentioned light effect units are not suit-
able for continuous operation. An uninterrupted
operating time of max. 1 hour is permitted. If the per-
mitted operating time is exceeded, the unit may be
damaged. In this case no guarantee for the unit and no
liability for subsequential damage to other units or to
persons will be assumed.

3 Safety Notes

This unit corresponds to the directive 89/336/EEC for
electromagnetic compatibility and the low voltage di-
rective 73/23/EEC.
It is necessary to observe in any case the following
items:
The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against humidity and heat (admissible ambient tem-
perature range 0-40 °C).
The unit heats up very much during operation in the
area of the lamp compartment. To avoid burnings,
do not touch this area during operation, and after
switching off let the unit cool down for some minutes
before touching it.

The heat being generated in the unit has to be
carried off via air circulation. Therefore, the vents of
the housing must not be covered with any objects.
Do not insert or drop anything into the vents! This
could result in electric shock.
Do not set the unit into operation, or immediately dis-
connect the mains plug from the mains socket if:
1. damage can be seen at the unit or mains cable,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or simi-
lar accident,
3. there are malfunctions.
The unit uses lethal mains voltage (230 V~). In case
of improper action a shock hazard may occur. The
unit must in any case be repaired by authorized,
skilled personnel.
A damaged mains cable must only be replaced by
the manufacturer or authorized, skilled personnel.
Never pull the mains plug out of the mains socket by
means of the mains cable.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth. Do not use
any chemicals or water.
If the unit is used for purposes other than originally
intended, if it is mounted or operated in the wrong
way or not repaired by authorized, skilled personnel,
there is no liability for possible damage.
If the unit is to be put out of operation definitively, it
must be disposed of in a local recycling plant.
Important for U.K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accord-
ance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow must
be connected to the terminal in the plug which is
marked with the letter E or by the earth symbol
or coloured green or green and yellow.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning - This appliance must be earthed.

4 Inserting the Lamp

The light effect unit is supplied without lamp.
Important! Prior to inserting resp. removing a lamp
disconnect the mains plug in any case! As halogen
lamps become very hot during operation, at first let the
lamp cool down after operation of the unit (cooling
down time at least 5 minutes) before replacing it.
4.1 Scanner (model LE-302)
For model LE-302 one halogen lamp of 230 V/300 W,
socket GX 6,35 (e. g. HLT-230/300 by "img Stage Line")
is required.
