Driver Test Station
Calibrating steering wheel, controls and pedals
The purpose of calibrating is to ensure that the values indicated on screen match
the actual values which influence the steering wheel, controls and pedals during a
test. The calibration tool can also be used to measure the force needed to steer
or brake a specific car model, as this can differ between different models of car.
Calibration must always be performed on /
- installation of the DTS
- modification of length of travel on controls and pedals
- computer replacement
Steering wheel
Fix the steering wheel in position with
the knob which is on the steering
wheel control rod.
Position the "round 40" steering wheel
spinner at the top of the steering
wheel. Using the hook on the calibra-
tion tool, pull in a horizontal direction
until the desired number of kg is
reached.
Controls
Press the point of the calibration tool
against the red mark until the desired
number of kg is reached.
To facilitate calibration of acceleration,
position a cable tie over the controls
and pull in a horizontal direction with
the hook on the calibration tool until
the desired number of kg is reached.
Pedals
Press the point of the calibration tool
against the centre of the pedal until the
desired number of kg is reached.
