1. Before you use it
• Please be sure to read the instruction manual carefully. This information will help you to
familiarise yourself with your new device, learn all of its functions and parts, find out impor-
tant details about its first use and how to operate it, and get advice in the event of faults.
• Following the instruction manual for use will prevent damage to the device and loss of
your statutory rights arising from defects due to incorrect use.
• We shall not be liable for any damage occurring as a result of not following these instruc-
tions. Likewise, we take no responsibility for any incorrect readings and for any conse-
quences which may result from them.
• Please take particular note of the safety advice!

4. For your safety
• The product is exclusively intended for the field of application described above. The product
should only be used as described within this instruction.
• Unauthorised repairs, modifications or changes to the product are prohibited.
Caution!
Risk of electrocution!
• Plug the instrument only into a socket installed in regulation manner and with a mains volt-
age of 230V! Otherwise your clock may be damaged.
• The instrument and the mains adapter must not come into contact with water or moisture.
Only suitable for operation in dry interiors.
• Do not use the unit if the housing or the mains adapter are damaged.
• Keep the unit out of reach of persons (including children) who cannot fully appreciate the
potential risks of handling electrical equipment.
• Pull the plug out of the socket immediately if any fault occurs or if the unit is not used for a
lengthy period.
• Only use the supplied mains adapter.
• Do not pull the plug out of the socket by its lead.
• Route the mains lead so that it does not come into contact with sharp-edged or hot objects.
Important information on product safety!
• Do not place the unit near extreme temperatures, vibration or shock.
• Leave the protective caps at the left edge of the housing.
EMC/RFI
• Protect the unit from EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference) from induction heaters and
microwave ovens and Electro Static Discharge. Readings may be affected if the unit is oper-
ated within a radio frequency electromagnetic field strength of approximately 3 volts per
meter, but the performance of the instrument will not be permanently affected.

* These two devices are only important for calibration during production and have no function for
the user. Do not remove!
6. Getting started
• Pull off the protection foil on the display.
• Insert the adapter into the jack. Connect the power adapter to a wall socket.
• Press the On/Off switch to turn on (I) the instrument.
• The unit is ready for use.
• The actual measurements will appear on the display: Temperature, humidity and CO
centration with the suitable smiley indicator.
• With each measurement a point will light up for a few seconds in the right corner of the
display. The latest results will appear immediately.
7. Dimmer-function
• The built-in brightness sensor adjusts the backlight to its environment automatically. This
function saves energy.

Laughing face:
The CO
concentration is below 800 ppm. The green warning lamp lights up.

Neutral face:
The CO
concentration is between 800 ppm and 1200 ppm. The yellow warning lamp

lights up.
Sad face:
The CO
concentration is over 1200 ppm. The red warning lamp lights up

9. Care and maintenance
• Clean it with a soft damp cloth. Do not use solvents or scouring agents. Protect from mois-
ture.
• Pull out the plug of the socket, if you do not use the product for a lengthy period.
• Keep the instrument in a dry place.
