DESCRIPTION OF APPARATUS
The Laserpin is an ergonomically designed pin dril-
ling unit featuring a combination of precision
mechanics and new laser technology. Its 30° angle
of design is the key to optimum use, as it enables
the operator to remain comfortably seated while
working – yet have a clear view of the model.
The inclined position of the drilling table prevents
plaster dust from affecting the drilling area, as it
simply falls below during work on the model. All
mechanical parts are designed for maximum preci-
sion and long service life. The drills are available in
five different diameters and can be easily changed
by using the two wrenches supplied. This makes
Laserpin to an absolute necessity for the dental
technician.
INSTALLATION
After unpacking the unit, please check it immediate-
ly for possible damage incurred during the trans-
port. Should the unit have been damaged during the
transport, please complain to your supplier immedia-
tely. Although this unit is supplied ready for use,
always check the voltage setting (115/230V) immedi-
ately above the power socket. If you are not certain
which voltage is used in your country, please ask
your local supplier of electrical appliances.
MOUNTING AND CHANGING THE DRILL
Always switch the unit off first. Use the open-end
wrenches (4+5) supplied with the unit to open the
chuck. Hold the bottom wrench firmly in place and
turn the top wrench clockwise. This will open the
chuck so that the drill can be inserted or replaced
through the top opening (B). (Measure the diameter
of the pins used with your system) Insert the desired
drill into the chuck and push it approx. 1-2 mm bene-
ath the white magnetic disk.
Tighten the chuck again by holding the bottom
wrenchfirmly and turning the top wrench anti-clock-
wise.

ADJUSTING THE DRILLING DEPTH
Loosen the vertical adjusting screw (3) with the
Allen key (6). Only tighten the vertical adjusting
screw very slightly (it should remain slightly mobile,
(D)). Press the platform down slowly to establish the
desired drilling depth (depending on the pin system).
Drill depth = retention part of pin + 1mm
Use the Allen key to tighten the vertical adjusting
screw again. (A)
The unit is now ready for use. Switch the power
switch on – the laser beam is aimed at the hole.
HANDLING
The user can either stand or sit to operate the
Laserpin. When operating the unit in sitting, ensure
that the model can be seen from above and that the
unit can be operated with both hands. Place the
model or dental arch on the white magnetic disk.
The laser beam aims exactly at the spot on the bot-
tom of the model where the hole is to be drilled.
When the model or white magnetic disk is depres-
sed, the motor switches on and the hole is drilled. (E)
IMPORTANT: To prevent the model or drill slip-
ping off-center or even fracturing, always press
the model firmly onto the magnetic disk with
both thumbs! (C)

designed to be maintenance-free. Simply keep the
unit clean. Always remove plaster dust completely.
To remove the plaster dust, simply lift the magnetic
disk. The used E-fuse is a type 0,8A slow. When
changing the fuse make sure to use one of the same
