For easier cleaning, we recommend that you clean the plate when it is still slightly warm,
but beware of the risk of burns.
Here are the steps to follow for effective cleaning:
1. Use a rigid spatula to remove the bulk of the juices adhering to the cooking plate
by pushing them towards the cooking waste collector.
2. Then thoroughly moisten the cooking plate to water down the remaining juices
(using a sponge filled with water or by dropping ice cubes on it). Leave for a few
minutes.
3. Use the rigid spatula to remove the remaining watered down juices by pushing
them towards the cooking waste collector.
4. Finish cleaning with an abrasive then a soft sponge.
After cooking salty foods, the cooking plate must be cleaned promptly (or the plate may
become corroded by the salt).
Tip: Pour a little vinegar onto the plate to remove residual odours and flavours.
Caution: Do not use chlorinated products for cleaning as these may cause corrosion.
Cooking waste collector
This collects the cooking waste. It must be handled once the appliance is cool and then
emptied and cleaned before the next use.
Venturis
Clean the venturi tubes occasionally (page 10, fig.3), particularly after long-term storage.
Insects can sometimes become stuck there.
Check and clean the holes in the venturi tube if they are blocked: brush them with a hard
bristle brush and clean with a flexible rod before re-commissioning the plancha. Wipe the
venturi thoroughly.
Storage
The gas cylinder must be disconnected and then stored outside, away from any heat
source.
When the Samba plancha is not in use, store it in a sheltered, dry and protected location.
In the event of an extended storage period, store the appliance indoors.
