Using WEATHER ALERT function
If you specify a channel on the WEATHER band and the
channel begins to broadcast an alert, the unit receives the

specified station.
• Before using WEATHER ALERT function, set the current
ALERT
time (see page 12).
TEST
1 Receive a channel on the WEATHER band.
2 Press WEATHER ALERT.

When the channel specified in step 1 begins to broadcast an
alert, the alert buzzer sounds.
To stop the buzzer, press SNOOZE. The unit receives the
channel.
If the ALERT LOCK switch is set to ON, the alert buzzer
sounds for about 60 minutes and the unit receives the
channel.
If the ALERT LOCK switch is set to OFF, the alert buzzer
sounds for about 10 seconds and the unit receives the
channel.
To cancel the WEATHER ALERT standby mode
Press WEATHER ALERT.
About the ALERT TEST switch
Set the ALERT switch to ON while in WEATHER ALERT
standby mode to check the alert buzzer. If the alert buzzer
sounds, you can confirm the alert buzzer sounds properly.
After checking, set it to OFF.
Note
• You cannot listen to the radio while in WEATHER ALERT
standby mode.
• If the preset time of alarm 1 or alarm 2 comes when the alert
buzzer sounds, the alarm timer does not work.
