Maintenance
WARNING: Always ensure that the tool is
switched off and unplugged before attempting to perform
inspection or maintenance.
REPLACING AND ADDING LUBRICANT
The power tool is delivered with proper amount of lubri-
cant. Do not add lubricant to a newly purchased breaker.
Check the level of lubricant and replace it every 6 months
after initial operation. These activities shall be performed
in authorized SPARKY service centres ONLY.
Preventive care will prolong the life of your power tool.
If the impact energy begins to decrease or the bit shank
is dry and unlubricated during operation, contact author-
ized SPARKY service centre to check lubricant level
and/or quality of fast-wearing parts.
INSPECTIONS
Inspecting the bit
Longer operation life of the breaker and higher efficiency
can be achieved only with well-sharpened accessories
for demolition and chiselling. Operating with a dull tool
will degrade efficiency and may cause malfunction.
When signs of abrasion are noted, it is necessary to
sharpen or replace the tool immediately.
Inspecting the fasteners
Regularly inspect all fasteners and ensure they are
properly tightened. Should any of the screws be loose,
retighten it immediately to avoid hazards.
Inspecting the tool retainer
After continuous operation the retainer may wear out.
Ensure that the tool shank is securely tightened. In case
of wear or damage call immediately the local SPARKY
service centre for warranty and post-warranty mainte-
nance.
Motor maintenance
To prevent motor damage never allow contact of motor
windings with water or oil.
Brush replacement (Fig. 6)
This power tool is equipped with auto-stop brushes.
When the carbon brushes are worn out, the machine au-
tomatically switches off. Both brushes must be replaced
after 100-120h of operation at SPARKY authorised ser-
vice centre. This power tool is designed to ensure fast
and easy brush replacement even by the customer. We
recommend though during the warranty period to per-
form this operation in the authorised SPARKY service
centres.
To replace brushes dismantle the parts marked by the
sequence of their removal:
1. Inner hex bolt M6x20
2. Fan cover
3. Brush holder cap
4. Carbon brush set
To assemble perform the above described procedures
in reverse order.
Original instructions
NOTE: After replacing the brushes make sure the
screws are securely tightened.
CLEANING
For safe operation always keep the machine and its ven-
tilation slots (6) clean.
Always clean the ventilation slots and the tool holder af-
ter operation carefully with a dry brush.
Never operate a power tool with clogged ventilation slots.
Exterior plastic parts may be cleaned with a damp cloth
and mild detergent.
WARNING: Although exterior plastic parts
are highly solvent resistant, never use solvents!
IMPORTANT! To assure product safety and reliability,
repairs, maintenance and adjustment should be per-
formed by certified service centres or other qualified
service organisations, always using genuine replace-
ment parts.
