Function
The water metre in the mineral substance meter-
ing unit measures the water volume flowing
through and sends pulses to the electronic con-
troller. The controller controls the drive motor for
the piston metering pump, which proportionally
adds the active substance to the water flow using
the injection point (4 4 4 4 4 ). The metering frequency
appears on the display (6 6 6 6 6 ).
A built-in level monitor switches the unit off auto-
matically once the active metered substance has
been used up to prevent the metering pump from
running dry. An audio signal is also emitted.
The self-monitoring electronic controller reliably
prevents improper overdosage if a fault occurs
and switches off the unit. The fault appears on the
display (6 6 6 6 6 ) and is indicated by an audio signal.
Impulsor Optronic mineral substance metering
units are DVGW, ÖVGW and SVGW tested in the
original ex-works settings with Quantophos F
mineral substance combinations.

Installation conditions
Observe all applicable installation regulations,
general guidelines and technical specifications.
If hot-water units are installed downstream, a non-
return valve should be installed. Metering units
have an integrated non-return valve and must
not be installed between the hot water heaters
and excess pressure valve.
A protective filter must be installed upstream from
the mineral substance metering unit to protect
the unit from foreign particles.
The installation site must be protected against
frost and must guarantee the protection of the
unit from all types of chemicals, paint, heating oil,
lees, solvent vapours, heat sources above 40°C
and direct sunlight.
The electrical outlet must be no more than 1.2m
from the mineral substance metering unit.
