4.2 How should mulching be
performed?
● Frequency:
At least twice a week in the spring (main
period of growth) and at least once a
week in the summer and autumn.
● Cutting height:
Remove approximately one third of the
grass height, only use cutting heights 4
to 7.
● Mulch the lawn when dry.
● Work with well-sharpened blades.
● Vary the mowing direction and ensure
that the mowing strips overlap.
For optimal mulching results, work at
right angles to the mowing strips of the
previous mulching operation.
● Always cut very tall grass in stages:
First mulching operation: cutting height
7, second mulching operation: cutting
height 4 to 6. During the second
mulching operation, work at right angles
to the mowing strips of the first
mulching operation.
Avoid damage to the machine.
If the cutting height is too low or the
grass is wet, clippings become
deposited in the mowing deck. The
mowing blades may be blocked.
