Instruction manual
You have acquired the Giga Box – a charger box which fullfills all expectations of today's state-of- the-art tech-
nology and will ensure optimal utilization of your batteries. This charger box is capable of indicating the status of
each inserted battery. The charger box belongs therefore, to the few units whose charging time is not terminated
solely by timer limits, but measures and evaluates the voltage of each individual cell. (Applies not to the 9 V-
block!). The operation and display functions of the Giga Box are clearly and simply designed. A visual concise
explanation of all display functions can be found on page 2 of this manual. The following sections provide expla-
nations describing the various possibilities and individual functions.

3. The Most Important Features of the Giga Box:
Microchip controlled quick charge: Due to the microchip the charging time is automatically set depending
on the type, capacity and actual charging condition of the battery.
"Battery Full" acc. to minus Delta V: The microchip recognizes the slightly declining voltage (minus Delta V)
of the battery when battery voltage starts to decrease, and automatically switches to trickle charge.
Attention: Make sure that the contacts of the batteries to be charged and of the Giga Box are always clean!
Individual compartment control/display: In each compartment batteries can be individually refreshed,
discharged, charged or trickle charged with LCD display for each slot.
Charging condition visualized via LCD display: Charging condition of a battery cannot be recognized
immediately but only after formatting, which may last up to 15 minutes.
Refreshing of deeply discharged batteries: Within 20 seconds after inserting the batteries the Giga Box tries
to regenerate them and if regenerated, charges them.
"Battery Defect" recognition: If regeneration fails (inner short circuit) the LCD monitor shows this and the bat-
tery is separated from charging current and will not be charged.
Discharge possibility: It is possible to discharge cylindrical batteries down to 1 V to avoid memory effect and
to refresh eventually damaged batteries by several discharging/charging preocedures.
Pulsed trickle charge: If a battery is charged the Giga Box automatically switches to pulsed trickle charge
avoiding self discharge of the battery which may remain in the charging box without being overcharged.
Power Supply/Car Adaptor: The Giga Box can be powered either by the included wide-range adaptor
(100-240 V) or by attached car adaptor lead in your car (12 to 20 V).
