2. Safety

2.1. Safety and responsibility

Before installing and using this product, please read these instructions carefully.
This Somfy product must be installed by a professional motorisation and home automation installer,
for whom these instructions are intended.
Moreover, the installer must comply with current standards and legislation in the country in which the
product is being installed, and inform his customers of the operating and maintenance conditions for
the product.
Any usage outside the area of application defined by Somfy is prohibited. In this event, as for all
usage not consistent with the instructions given herein, Somfy accepts no responsibility for harm or
damage.
Never begin installing without first checking the compatibility of this product with the associated
equipment and accessories.
2.2. Specific safety advice
- Install the io Lighting Receiver in a location sheltered from rain and inclement weather.
- Ensure that the light module connected to the io Lighting Receiver does not exceed 500 W.
- Never connect several io Lighting Receivers to the same light.
- Never install the io Lighting Receiver near metal surfaces; they may reduce the radio range.
- Check the radio range before fitting the io Lighting Receiver. The radio range is limited by the radio
appliance control standards.
The use of a radio appliance (e.g. Hi-Fi radio headphones) operating on the same frequency
may cause interference and be detrimental to the product's performance.
- The building in which the product is used may reduce the radio range. The radio range of a Somfy
io local control point is:
