Description

Th e DC 3800/5800 Turbo EX is a machine with large
suction capacity and robust construction while still being
compact and easy to maneuver. DC 3800/5800 Turbo EX is
designed for suction and removal of dry dust. It is specially
designed for industries where there is risk of explosion to
dust . Explosion protection based primarily on the enclo-
sure of electrical equipment and all parts in contact with
the dust potential is capped or dissipative. Th e machine
can be used for inlet-temperatures between +10 and +40
degrees Celsius.
It is ideal for spot extraction on most types of hand-held
tools and for industrial cleaning (38 mm and 50 mm
system). Vacuuming is an important measure to reduce
the dust layer and thus reduce the risk of explosion.

Operation

Always check that electrical equipment and cables for
potential equalization is undamaged and that all acces-
sories are antistatic.Connect to a power source outside the
zone of tension according to the specifi cations plate on the
machine.
Th e fi lter should be cleaned 1-2 times per day with conti-
nuous running or if the machine is equipped with a fi lter
monitor, when this is in the red area.
For fi lter cleaning:
1. Start the machine.
2. Disconnect the hose from the suction casing.
3. Place the suction hoses free end of one machine's
handle so that maximum pressure is created in the
cyclone.
4. Open the door on the side 3-6 times. Th e air rushes
into the machine and clean the fi lter with pulse ef-
fect.
5. Disconnect the hose from the handle.
6. If the fi lter condition meter reads green work can
continue, if in the red, pulse clean again. If after
several repetitions, the fi lter condition still shows red
the fi ne fi lter 42398 must be changed.
Some operations (which restrict the air fl ow) can make the
fi lter monitor show a high value even
with clean fi lters. Th e machine should
never be run constantly with the moni-
tor showing in the red area because this
involves a risk of overheating.

Th e extraction system functions with negative pressure (va-
cuum) that draws the air through suction casings/nozzles,
hose system, separator and fi lter system. Coarse separation
of dust occurs in the units cyclone which is a highly effi cient
separator for larger particulate. Th e fi ne dust is separated
and contained by the units fi lter system. Separated material
is collected for disposal in the plastic sack or container at
the base of the cyclone.
Filter cleaning with reverse pulse gives long fi lter life and
constant capacity.

Th e container should be emptied during the cyclone when
it is fi lled to about 2/3 or max 40 kg. Remove when the
two fasteners and remove the container. Use caution when
tensioning the locks removed - they can open up with great
power - especially when the material is heavy. Be aware
that the emptying of the container may pose an explosion
hazard, ie that explosive atmospheres may occur and that
static charge can be generated by the friction of particles
