INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing a quality Courant blender. Your Courant blender will help you
easily blend a wide variety of tasty treats.
This blender is ideal for making milkshakes, smoothies, sorbets, sauces, creams, cock-
tails, and friends! However, it's not made for crushing ice, frozen foods, cereals, rice, or
coffee. Blending any of these can damage the blades.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Here are some basic safety precautions that you should carefully follow as you use your
new Courant blender. Read all instructions carefully! Courant is not responsible for dam-
age or injuries caused by improper use of the appliance.
GENERAL SAFETY
1. Don't touch any moving parts!
2. Keep yourself safe from electrical shocks: keep the blender and power cord out of
water or other liquids.
3. Be careful when operating the blender with or around children.
4. Do not use the blender outdoors, especially during inclement weather (snow, rain,
excessive moisture). Store it in a dry place!
5. Don't keep the blender on or near a hot gas or electric burner. Keep it out of the oven.
6. Don't use the blender for anything besides what we described at the beginning of
this manual.
7. Never leave blender unattended while it is running.
8. Do not let the blender run continuously for more than 2 minutes.
9. If blender runs continuously for a long period of time (1-2 minutes), allow it to rest
for at least 5 minutes before turning it back on again.
10. When cleaning the blender accessories, use warm tap water. Make sure that you
wash off all soap and detergent thoroughly.
11. Never immerse the motor unit in water or other liquids! It should be carefully
cleaned separately with a damp cloth.
12. The blender isn't drop-proof: hard impact may cause damage to the unit.
13. We don't recommend using attachments that aren't approved by the manufactur-
er (including canning jars), as this can lead to safety issues.
14. Only operate the blender with the lid on. Fasten the lid securely.
15. Never leave packaging materials (i.e. plastic bags, polystyrene foam, nails, staples,
etc.) around; they can pose a choking risk to children.
16. Dispose of your blender properly through a local appliance recycling or disposal ser-
vice.
17. While the blender is running, do not handle it with wet hands or in bare feet.
