outside with a damp cloth.
Important: Do not stir the liquid inside the
glass interior of thermo carafe 7 using pointed
or hard objects and do not reach inside it as
there is a danger that it may break and also a
risk of injury.
Descaling
If right hand aroma selection button 13 is
flashing,
this indicates that the appliance
needs to be descaled.
Tip: It is advisable to descale the coffee maker,
regardless of the descaling indicator, if the
brewing time takes considerably longer or
more steam is produced than normal.
Regular descaling
- prolongs the service life of the coffee
maker
- guarantees faultless operation
- avoids an excessive formation of steam
- shortens the brewing time
- saves energy
The coffee maker should be descaled using a
commercially available descaler.
Place thermo carafe 7 in the coffee maker

with its lid closed.
Measure out the descaler in accordance

with the manufacturer's instructions and
add it to the reservoir.
Caution: Do not fill with more than 6 cups
of liquid.
Press and hold aroma selection button 13
S
and switch 11 for at least 3 seconds
to start the descaling program. Aroma
selection button 13
of ring lamp 10 flash for the duration of the
descaling program.
The descaling program is complete once the
button and ring lamp stop flashing. Swivel
plate 8 automatically swivels into the serving
position.

When descaling has ended, operate the

Troubleshooting minor problems
