NOTE: The unit will not operate properly if the tines are
installed incorrectly. If you notice a problem with the cultivating
operation of the unit, check for proper tine positioning.
WARNING:
Gasoline and its vapors are highly flammable and ex-
plosive. To prevent serious personal injury and property
damage, handle it with care. Keep away from ignition
sources and open flames, handle outdoors only, do not
smoke while mixing gasoline and lubricant together; and
wipe up spills immediately.

MIxING ThE FUEL

See Figure 6.
The cultivator is powered by a two-stroke, air-cooled engine
and requires a fuel mixture of gasoline and 2-cycle fuel
lubricant.
NOTE: Always mix two-cycle engine lubricant like Homelite's
Exact Mix Semi Synthetic Lubricant with gasoline before
fueling the unit. Running the cultivator on gasoline alone
will ruin the engine.
NOTE: We recommend you use ONLY Homelite or G-OIL
in your product.
Use a mixture of 50 parts unleaded regular gasoline and
1 part two-stroke engine lubricant (50:1). Use branded 87
octane (R+M+2) unleaded gasoline or gasohol (maximum
10% ethyl alcohol, or 15% MTBE, no methyl alcohol.)
NOTE: Always mix lubricant and gas in the proper proportions:
2.6 ounces of lubricant to one gallon of unleaded gaso-
line.
To mix the lubricant and fuel together for use:
 Pour 1/2 gallon of gasoline into a clean gas can or other
container approved for fuel storage. Do not mix the fuel
and lubricant directly in the cultivator's fuel tank.
 Add 2.6 ounces of two-cycle engine lubricant to the
gasoline mixture.
 Add the remaining 1/2 gallon of gasoline.
 Close the container holding the gas/lubricant mix and
swirl the can to blend contents together.
NOTE: Do not mix more than you will use in a month, and
shake the container to blend thoroughly before each use.
Using an old fuel mixture can cause starting difficulty or
engine damage.
ASSEMBLy

OxyGENATED FUELS

DO NOT USE E85 FUEL. IT WILL VOID yOUR
WARRANTy.
NOTE: Fuel system damage or performance problems re-
sulting from the use of an oxygenated fuel containing more
than the percentages of oxygenates stated previously are
not covered under warranty.
Ethanol. Gasoline containing up to 10% ethanol by volume
(commonly referred to as E10) or 15% ethanol by volume
(commonly referred to as E15) are acceptable. E85 is not.
WARNING:
Always shut off engine before fueling. Never add fuel to
a machine with a running or hot engine. Move at least
30 ft. from refueling site before starting engine. Do not
smoke! Failure to follow these instructions could result
in serious personal injury.
ADDING FUEL TO CULTIVATOR
See Figure 7.
When adding fuel to the cultivator, make sure the unit is
®
sitting on level ground and that the engine is not hot.
Fuel only with recommended 50:1 mixture of gasoline and
lubricant as described in Mixing the Fuel.
To add fuel to the cultivator:
 Clean area around fuel tank cap, if necessary.
 Remove the fuel tank cap.
 Insert a clean funnel into the fuel tank.
 Slowly pour gasoline/lubricant mixture into fuel tank.
NOTE: Fill tank no higher than 1/2 in. from top to allow
for gasoline expansion.
 Reinstall fuel cap.
 Clean up any spills.
