STAR 4 POWER REGULATOR (cod.STAR4NEW)
Thank-you for buying a STAR 4 POWER REGULATOR.The MOD STAR 4 REGULATOR is a top quality product and designed to last.All
regulators are bench tested before delivery to check their efficiency.
CONSTRUCTION
The MOD. STAR REGULATOR is made up of an expoxydic powder-painted steel container for wall mounting.
The aluminium heat dissipator (fig.1-A) at the rear of the container is earthed by a fast-on connector, as per current legislation.
The regulator also includes an anti-interference filter for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and a 16A fuse to protect the container's
internal board. 16A socket (fig.2-B) to connect heating appliances to infra-red rays. 0/1 (On/Off) ignition switch (fig. 1-E). 2.75 m long
H05VV-F 3X1 cable with Schuko plug for mains connection (fig. 2-C) The CE mark guarantees that the appliance has been built in
compliance with the EU directive on low voltage and electromagnetic compatibility for electrical appliances.

USE
The MOD. STAR 4 REGULATOR has been specially designed for regulating HELIOS ELECTRIC INFRARED IRK infra-red electric heaters. Its
operation is based on the principle of phase control, thus the MOD. STAR 4 REGULATOR is capable of changing the power gradually on the
load from 19% to 100% through the knob (fig. 2-D). In this way comfort can be adjusted to the desired temperature. The maximum
possible power that can be connected to the regulator is 3000 W on a mains voltage of 230V.

• Do not use this appliance for functions other than those described in this booklet.
• After removing the appliance from its packaging, ensure that it is complete and undamaged. If in doubt contact Vortice. Do not leave
packaging within the reach of children or differently able persons.
• Never touch the appliance with wet or damp hands.
• Never touch the appliance while barefoot.
• If using this appliance where there are children, supervision by an adult is necessary; the appliance must not be used, without assistance,
by children or persons whose physical, sensory or mental capacities prevent them from applying the necessary safety precautions.
Do not use the regulator in bathrooms or in the immediate vicinity of baths, showers orswimming pools.

• Do not us the appliance where there are inflammable substances and vapours (alcohol, insecticides, petrol, etc.).
• Before carrying out any type of cleaning or maintenance operation, switch the appliance off.
• If you decide to discard the appliance, switch off the system and then disconnect the appliance from the power supply. Lastly, put the
appliance away out of reach of children and differently able persons.
• Do not connect RS to heaters with a power output greater than 3000 W
• Always use the spacers to avoid overheating the regulator.
• Do not connect the regulator to the power supply before fixing it.

• Do not make modifications of any kind to this appliance.

• Do not expose the appliance to the weather (rain,sun, etc.).
• Do not leave objects standing on the appliance.
• Regularly inspect the appliance for visible defects. If any faults are found, do not operate the appliance; contact Star Progetti
immediately.
• The electrical system to which the appliance is connected must conform to applicable standards.
• The appliance must be installed by professionally qualified personnel.
• The appliance must be connected to an efficient earthing system in accordance with applicable electrical safety standards. If in doubt,
ask a qualified electrician to check your system.
• Check that the electrical power supply/socket provides the maximum electrical power required by the appliance. If it cannot do so,
arrange for a qualified electrician to make the necessary modifications.
• When installing the appliance, fit a multi-pole thermomagnetic cutout, with a contact gap of at least 3 mm.
• Should the appliance be dropped or suffer a heavy blow, have it checked immediately by Star Progetti.
• Switch the appliance off immediately if it malfunctions or develops a fault. Then contact Star Progetti immediately. Ensure that only
genuine original Star Progetti spares are used for any repairs.
• Switch the appliance off when it is not in use.
• Do not use the regulator for fluorescent or energy saving lamps.
• Do not use the regulator for electric motors or transformers.
• Any use other than as stated in this instructions handbook can damage STAR 4, besides causing shortcircuiting and fires.
• Specifications for the power supply must correspond to the electrical data on data plate A (fig.3).
• Do not cover or obstruct the regulator during operation.
• Do not use the regulator near a bath, shower or swimming pool and in any case, for its installation,
keep to the requirements of the law on appliances with water protection class IP20.
• Do not use STAR4 if the power cable is damaged. Cable renewal must be performed by professionally qualified personnel.
• The regulator has been designed solely for use in closed rooms.
• The regulator must be installed in a dry place.
• Industrial installations require observance of the safety regulations in force in the country of installation.
