1. INTRODUCTION

The Lynx Router is the element of the LYNX infrastructure that enables a secure LAN
extension over Internet.
Faced with requests for mobility in the VIVOs, the Lynx Router make configurations for
creating secure tunnels between mobility agents and the LYNX network. All these
communications to or from Internet are safely performed by the VPN tunnels. Similarly you
can deny access to a mobility agent from the VIVO device.
The device can be integrated into the infrastructure of several ways: a full installation (one
router for all apartments), a full block (one router per block) and a concrete apartment
(one router for one apartment)
Each of them should be behind a ISP router / modem (configured correctly) that provides
access to the Internet.

2. LIST OF TERMS

ISP: An Internet service provider (ISP) is an organization that provides services for
accessing, using, or participating in the Internet.
DNS: Domain Name Server.
LAN: Local Area Network.
WAN: Wide Area Network.

3. INCOMPATIBILITIES AND LIMITATIONS

The first boot creates server certificates. For proper operation of the equipment is
necessary to wait five minutes before making any configuration changes.
Since the main goal of the Lynx router is to divert calls towards mobile devices via Internet,
a high outbound bandwidth is required to that end. Connection requirements could vary
depending on the selected video quality and the number of users, but a hardwired
broadband access with a high data rate and low latency is strongly recommended (i.e
30MB fiber connection).
