Electric Espresso Coffee maker Use instructions
HOW TO PREPARE THE COFFEE
1. Check that the coffee maker is cold, and then unscrew it by holding the boiler (C) with one hand and turning
the handle of the pitcher (B) anticlockwise with the other (Fig.1).
2. Remove the funnel filter (K).
3. To prepare 3 cups of coffee, fill the boiler (C) with fresh water until reaching the safety valve (J) that is visible
also inside the boiler (C),without exceeding it (Fig.2). To prepare 1 cup of coffee, fill the boiler with water up to
around 2 centimeters below the safety valve.
TIP: Use fresh and soft water. Salty or hard water will weaken the flavor of coffee.
IMPORTANT: do not use the coffee maker without water in the boiler or alternatively using hot water for
faster operation.
4. Insert the funnel filter (K) in the boiler (C) ( Fig. 3). To prepare one cup of coffee, also insert the 1 cup filter
adapter (L) in the funnel filter (K) ( Fig. 4).
5. Fill the funnel filter (K) with ground coffee, without pressing it (Fig. 5). Fill it a little at a time to overfilling.
6. Distribute the ground coffee uniformly and remove any excess coffee from the edge of the funnel filter.
IMPORTANT: Use good quality, medium-ground coffee for MOKA coffee makers. Do not use barley coffee
with this coffee maker.
7. Tighten the coffee maker securely, without exaggerating, holding the boiler (C) with one hand and turning the
pitcher clockwise with the other, without pushing on the handle.
8. Rest the coffee maker on the support base (F) ( Fig. 6) . Close the pitcher lid (A).
9. Press the on/off switch (Fig. 7) The coffee will start to be released from the tube (M) after a few minutes.
10. When coffee stops coming out, pour it into suitable cups and stir it well before serving.
Coffee preparation process will take about 4 to 5 minutes.
IMPORTANT: The first time that the coffee maker is used, all the accessories should be washed with hot
water. Then make a few batches of coffee to throw away.
CLEANING AND MAINTENCE
1. Before performing the cleaning operations, wait for the coffee maker cool down after use.
2. Clean the inside of the tube (M) periodically.
3. Regularly check all the filters (D, K, L) and the gasket (E). Replace if there are signs of wear or deterioration.
Use original spare parts only.
4. Every so often check to make sure that the holes in all the filters (D, K, L) are not blocked; if necessary, clean
using a pin (Fig. 8).
5. Do not wash the coffee maker in the dishwasher.
6. When cleaning do not use solvents or abrasive detergents. Simply clean it with a sponge, keeping attention
not to wet the electrical parts.
7. When there is the necessity to remove and/or replace the disc filter (D) and the gasket (E), it's important to
reinsert them properly in their respective place to avoid dangerous leakages of hot water.
Never rinse the boiler (C) under running water and never immerse it in water. Fig.3
